consider me gone

Everytime I turn the conversation to somethin’
Deeper than the weather
I can feel you all, but shuttin’ down
And when I need an explanation for the silence
You just tell me “you don’t wanna talk about it now”
What you’re not sayin’ is comin’ in loud n clear
We’re at a crossroads here

If I’m not the one thing, you can’t stand to lose
If I’m not the arrow to the heart of you
If you don’t get drunk, on my kiss
If you think you can do better than this
Then I guess we’re done
Let’s not drag this on
Consider me gone

With you I’ve always been wide open
Like a window or an ocean
There is nothin’ I’ve ever tried to hide
So when you leave me, not knowin’ where you’re goin’
I start thinkin’ that we’re lookin’
We’re lookin’ at goodbye
How about a strong bout a strong shot of honesty?
Don’t you owe that to me?

If I’m not the one thing, you can’t stand to lose
If I’m not the arrow to the heart of you
If you don’t get drunk, on my kiss
If you think you can do better than this
Then I guess we’re done
Let’s not drag this on
Consider me gone

Consider me on being real
Consider me the past
Consider me a smile in an old photograph
Someone who used to make you laugh

If I’m not the one thing, you can’t stand to lose
If I’m not the arrow to the heart of you
Then I guess we’re done
Let’s not drag this on
Consider me gone
Consider me gone
Consider me gone
Just consider me gone

Kanye West Apologizes to Taylor Swift

On his official blog, Kanye West has issued an apology - in all caps - to Taylor Swift for ambushing her Best Female Video acceptance speech at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.

“I’M SOOOOO SORRY” he began.

On his blog, West went on to say that he was “in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment.”

The rapper - who was drinking Hennessy on the red carpet - added that “Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade . . . I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I’m sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor.”

Before signing off, he wrote, “I really feel bad for Taylor and I am sincerely sorry.” Oddly, the apology was missing from his blog as of Monday morning.

After the show, Swift, 19, told reporters she had no ill-will toward the rapper, of whom she was once a fan.

“I don’t want to start anything because I had a great night tonight,” she said.

so the fuck what?! you should have never taken your bigoted black ass on stage in the first place! security should have thrown you out of the building on said sorry black ass! there was no reason for what you did, and no apology will help!

but huge, major kudos to beyonce, for calling taylor back out for “her moment”. she showed true class, and i was very happy for what she did to make a horrible situation much better for taylor swift, and her fans.

kayne west, on the other hand, should not get away with what he did.

what a fucking ass! wait, i already said that…

the ayes have it

finally friday!

i know there were only four days in this work week, but it feels like it has been a month since last weekend!

we went to the southeastern football game last night- stayed til about mid-way through the third quarter. the lions ended up defeating the union (ky) bulldogs 69-20. it was never close. we sat on the 50 yard line, of course.

went home and looked at pictures from cassidy’s photoshoot from the night before. worked on a couple before deciding on the pose we wanted to put up on the MGLA website. gonna try to switch the main photo out every couple of weeks or so.

anyways, no big plans for the weekend. the bf’s daughter is coming over tomorrow, so things will be tame on the end of the dirt road… not that there has been any action there in the past month and a half, at least.

oh, well… time to go eat lunch.

so…

southern decadence has come and gone. we stayed at the bourbon orleans this year, which is right there on bourbon street next to oz and the pub. i had a good time, i suppose, even though i didn’t have sex with a single person out of the 100,000 gays there!! oh, well…

friday night we just walked around and observed the sights. it rained off and on, so was kinda dreary but it didn’t seem to damper the crowds too much. we stayed by the pub and talked to porn star/promoter nathan brooks for a couple of hours about drag and pageants and all that nonsense. got in bed about 5am.

up saturday and at the pub for about 1. it was still raining outside, so we went upstairs to watch the boys show their penises onstage to win cash. stayed out a while, then went back to the hotel and showered. met up with charles, so we hung out with him all night. went to a drag show at the golden lantern. hung out upstairs at napoleon’s itch talking drag, then drove to harrah’s for breakfast. after they dropped us off at the hotel, we went back out for a while. stayed upstairs at lafitte’s til we got kicked out at 4:30am.

slept til noon sunday, then went to watch the parade. afterwards, we were talking to tiffany alexander, when i realized that in all the madness of the parade, someone had stolen my wallet out of my front pocket! lucky for me, all they got was a debit card (which i promptly cancelled) and my driver’s license! no cash…

went to lunch at moon wok, then back upstairs at the pub. coming down the stairs, the bf slipped and bounced down about 5 stairs. he has a beautiful black and blue butt cheek now!

sunday night, we visited with jay and joey, our friends who located to san francisco after katrina. it’s always nive visiting with them! of course earlier in the evening was when i got the call from my ex-wife telling me the story about dennis killing his family and then himself. not a fun way to start the night!

was home monday by 1:00. didn’t do anything, but some laundry to get ready for the weekend.

is it friday yet???

the rest of the story…

so, my ex-wife calls me this weekend while i am in new orleans for southern decadence, crying- telling me dennis is dead…

from fox news:

A Louisiana killing spree that left four family members dead, including a 2-year-old boy, marked the bloody culmination of an ongoing domestic dispute between the suspected gunman and his estranged wife, said the father of a woman who survived the shootings.

Dennis Carter Sr. shot and killed his wife, son and 2-year-old grandson, then shot himself to death as police tried to pull over his car about 20 minutes later, Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office Chief of Operations Perry Rushing said Sunday.

Also shot was Carter Sr.’s daughter-in-law, Amber Carter, who was six months pregnant and was in intensive care in a New Orleans hospital after giving birth to a healthy boy named Aubrey, said her father, Paul Williamson.

Williamson said Carter Sr., 50, had a history of assaulting his wife, Donna Carter, and recently tried to attack her with a machete. Donna Carter had a restraining order against him that her husband had repeatedly violated.

yes, that dennis!

my ex had dated him last year, then again briefly this summer, when he bought her a new car and claimed to be sober. she broke it off with him a couple of months ago, and lfe had been hell since then. he slashed all four tires on my son’s car and scratched his windshield. he slashed her tires at work and poured sugar in her gas tank. he would come by her work and apartment. she just got a restraining order against him last week!

when i heard the story of what happened saturday night, i just started crying, because i knew in my heart he was on his way back to ponchatoula to take her out when he was stopped by the police, and shot himself.

those fears were realized today when the cops called her, and told her he had tried calling her landline phone saturday night. she didn’t even know he had called because she uses her cell- and he didn’t have that number. he was out to “get everyone who had used him”. she and my son, and his girlfriend would have probably been his next victims!

thank god the bastard is dead. it’s just a shame innocent lives were lost in the process. but this all goes to show- once again- that restraining orders don’t do a damn bit of good!!!

katrina- 4 years later

things will never be the same, never…

REPOST OF BLOG

looks like we may be in the bullseye for this one! bout to head to the store to stock up, just in case they are right.

the first outer bands from hurricane katrina have arrived here in hammond with a brief downpour, gusty winds, and lightning. things are going to go downhill fast tonight. there are very few people here in our apartment complex riding it out. hope we didn’t make the wrong decision to stay. my family drove to memphis, and the bf’s family went to lake charles. hope we keep electricity at least through most of the night.

looking at those pictures, it just looks like a bad storm, and not even too bad at that. but for the more than 1,400 people who lost their lives, it was the one new orleans had dreaded for years. i hope i don’t live to see another one of that magnitude strike our state again.

we did it!!!!!

my bf, aka the fabulous miss cassidy st. james, captured the title of miss gay louisiana america 2009 friday night in alexandria. it wasn’t even close! she fuckin’ whupped ass, and has the crown to prove it! next stop, miss gay america in st. louis late october. our goal there is for her to finish in the top ten! we will make that happen!!

photos and videos will be added soon.

So…

Still not doing a very good job blogging these days. Always seems to be something more important to do with my time.

Sitting in the condo on st. Charles now, about to go to the French market and to clover grill on bourbon street for lunch. We have been done here in new Orleans since Friday night. I can’t even remember the last weekend we were actually at home. We were in alexandria last weekend, Shreveport before that and back in Alex the two before that.

But this coming up weekend we have to stay home!! It’s less than two weeks til the miss gay Louisiana pageant, and we have to get cassidy’s package complete for her to capture the title on august 21st. Gonna be a busy two weeks coming up.

Ok that’s it. Hopefully soon we will be going for some lunch…
