A strong disturbance will interact with a deep layer of cold air bringing a risk of sleet and snow to the region on Friday. Snow and sleet will increase in coverage and intensity across central and southeast texas and Louisiana Friday morning and afternoon, shifting east across southern Mississippi Friday evening. Accumulations of sleet and snow are forecast to average from 1-3 inches with locally higher amounts.

Be advised that road conditions are forecast to deteriorate quickly from west to east on Friday.
