christmas…
Friday, November 28th, 2008dunno exactly why, but for the first time in several years, i’m in the mood! and it’s only the day after thanksgiving!! the bf took his daughter to the movies, so i pulled all the christmas decorations out. we didn’t even put up a tree last year, and the christmas village hasn’t been displayed in years. well, the village is set up, and the tree is next. pictures soon.
the bf wasn’t feeling well yesterday, so he stayed home while i met the parents, my sis and br-in-law and their two girls, and my baby brother at ryan’s for lunch. i went over to the parents’ house last night for dinner, with all of the above, in addition to my other brother, sis-in-law and their four children. talk about chaos!! whew… didn’t even see my son yesterday, he went with his mom to dinner at her parents’. guess he’s grown now, don’t see him nearly as much as i used to.
i cooked the cornbread dressing wednesday night. thank god i had gotten all the vegetables chopped the night before.

the band in the stands
well, they got their asses kicked by the ole miss rebels, but it was still a fun saturday afternoon in death valley. the tigers have a horrible record for day games in baton rouge, and this one just added to the list. they looked sluggish the entire first half, and could never recover in the second half, even with the spark of a new qb, jordan jefferson. mark my words, this kid will be great!
after the game, we drove to cabelo’s in gonzales to look at the merchandise boys and men, and there was plenty to see! then drove over to new orleans for a while. good times… drove home, and went to bed.
slept semi-late today, had breakfast, then went to dinner at jon and lauren’s. the bf fell asleep on the sofa watching the american music awards, and finally went to bed. i cropped some pics and posted, now i’m about to go to bed too.
thanks god there are only three work days this week!!

the bf at the galleria with the christmas tree and ice rink in the background
so, we left saturday afternoon for houston, and the madonna concert. we rented a convertible, cuz we thought we’d look sexy in one going to houston! we bout froze our asses off, even with the heat blasting away. we finally stopped and put the top up! i drove, and the bf played on his iphone.
checked into the hotel. went and ate dinner, then drove downtown to BRB- Brazo’s River Bottom, a gay country/western dance club. we had so much fun! the place was packed- hot cowboys, sexy bois, and everything in between. and it was so fucking nice; no cigarette smoke!! you can’t smoke in houston’s bars! i love it! we watched the dancing. the bf never danced with anyone, even though i kept urging him to. but it was still fun just drinking, and watching the action. next time we go back, i will know how to two-step!
sunday we went to the galleria for a couple of hours, then found the local, ahem, adult video theater! hung out there for a while. hurried back to the hotel to get ready for the madonna concert. (see next post)
didn’t go out after the concert. just drove thru and got food to eat in the room. drove home monday with the top down since it was much warmer.
had a great time! can’t wait to go back and party in houston!

as the show starts…

yeah, so we had nose-bleed seats, but after the performance she gave, i’m glad i didn’t spend more than i did on tickets! i’m not gonna say i’m sorry i went, because it was fun, and i did enjoy the concert.
however, i was terribly dissapointed. it was not at all the spectacle i expected. to begin with, she was over two hours late, and didn’t even have a real opening act, just some loser dj who wasted 30 minutes of time. her eight costumes changes were so minor- at one point she changed from red shorts to like purple ones. her set list left a lot to be desired, in my opnion. she didn’t do some of her bigger hits, while doing some that were unforgettable.
idk, maybe if i had been closer to the stage, i would have enjoyed it more. but by looking at the fans closest to the stage, i still didn’t see the excitement you’d witness at, say, a cher concert! who, by the way, would out-perform madonna any day… even from a wheelchair!
oh, and when she was done, the signs flashed “party over” and the bitch was off the stage and leaving in her limo! no encore at all. she’s not the diva she thinks she is.
now, do i regret going? hell, no. I’m still glad i finally saw her in concert, but it was not what i expected.
