girls basketball

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

hammond hosts the girls high school basketball finals every year in the university center on campus, where the top 4 teams in each of the 7 brackets compete for the championship. the bf and i volunteered last night, and we were stationed at the media hospitality room. wrong place to put me! i ate all night long!!! jambalaya, crawfish fettucine, meatballs, brisket, sandwhiches, cake, cookies… omg, my stomach still hurts!

but it was sad watching the losing teams tell their host families goodbye. saw lots of tears, not only from the players, but also the coaches and hosts. the only two local teams, st. thomas and kentwood, both lost last night. the torney continues thru friday, so we may go back and watch a few games.

but tonight, we’re going straight home after work. i’m exhausted!!

**********

sorta strange to be sitting here at the computer on my lunch hour. the bf and i eat lunch together almost every day, but he has a client during my lunch today, so i’m going next door to sonic and get a weenie. on a bun, not attached to some hot guy… unfortunately.

my newest tattoo… on my left inside wrist. got it last night. afterwards, the bf and i went to our friend lesley’s house and played guitar hero, then went and ate ice cream at marble slab. this, after eating healthy all day. oh, well…

also got new rings for my ears over the w/e. went from a 16 to a 14 gauge. eventually, i’d like an 8 or 10 gauge.

the weekend

Monday, February 25th, 2008

saturday, the bf and i drove over to mobile for pbr bullriding at the civic center. we had awesome seats, 5 rows up, and right in front of the chutes. lots of great sights of hot bullriders!

we stayed at the holiday inn, which was right across the street from the civic center, and a block away from the gay bars!

we went to b-bobs for the drag show, and walked down to gabriels for a while… shot my first ever game of pool there, can you believe that? going out in mobile was ok fun; we enjoyed the drag show, but it wasn’t like going out in new orleans!

we did see the hottie couple that we met in hattiesburg a few years ago, who just so happened to be in mobile this w/e also.

(pic from ‘05)

these pictures are from the nature reserve in mandeville… we stopped there on our way home.

two of the cute, young bois were eliminated last night, much to my (and their) surprise. and did you see the look of shock and disbelief on the face of danny noriega when colton was eliminated? i’d like to imagine that those two were involved in some hank-panky, but maybe that’s just my perverted mind!

and what did you think of paula’s new video? hmmm…

Miles suspends Perrilloux again

LSU’s third confirmed suspension of quarterback Ryan Perrilloux in nine months elicited sadness at his high school and more questions than answers at his college campus.

An LSU news release Monday quoted football coach Les Miles as saying he indefinitely suspended Perrilloux, the offensive star of his team’s Southeastern Conference Championship Game victory Dec. 1, because of “his failure to follow team rules.”

Miles could not be reached for comment or to clarify Perrilloux’s status for spring practice, scheduled to start Feb. 29. The news release quoted Miles as saying he would not comment any further on the situation.

“I have complete faith in the direction Les Miles is taking that program in,” said Dauterive, who stressed he hopes Perrilloux can turn things around. “For whatever reason this transpired, obviously there was a point where the straw broke the camel’s back.”

On May 22, Miles suspended Perrilloux indefinitely after the quarterback, then 20 years old, was arrested and issued a misdemeanor summons for trying to enter a Baton Rouge casino with his brother’s ID.

Perrilloux missed all summer workouts with the team, returning to full participation with the Tigers on Aug. 3, the day they reported for preseason practice.

On Oct. 29, Miles suspended Perrilloux for one week of practice and for LSU’s highly anticipated game Nov. 3 against Alabama and its coach, former LSU coach Nick Saban. That came on the heels of an Oct. 26 fight at a club near the campus, an incident in which Perrilloux was later cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

Miles kicked two other LSU players off the team for their roles in the fight.

Perrilloux, who played in 12 of LSU’s 14 games as a sophomore in the 2007 season, was also questioned by federal authorities in connection with a counterfeiting investigation last winter. He was not arrested or charged with breaking any laws.

how many fucking chances will this loser be given?! i bleed purple and gold, but at this point, i’d rather trade some wins for losses and a quarterback who will be a true leader and who will represent lsu (and the state of louisiana) in a positive light for a change. i understand that he is still a young man, but come on, take some responsibility for your actions, and start acting like man. you have (had???) star potentional, but that’s all it is at this point… potential.

les miles needs to be a man of action and kick him off the team. stop with the damn suspensions, and subsequent reinstatements when it’s time to use him. (such as spring practice that starts on the 29th)

enough is enough. perrilloux is a man of many words (’I've got to do the right things”), but no action or behavior to back up his words.

put an end to his song and dance at lsu! Perrilloux has got to go!!!

was fun… the bf and i went to the quarter. ate at the moon wok. went to the pub. went down to lafittes for a little while, but it was dead. went back to the pub for the profiles show. saw a lot of old friends. went upstairs and visited with tiffany, raquel and anastacia before the show. the show was actually fun, too. lotsa hot boys were there, eye candy for days… brad, the hottie boi from independence was there. we sat with tami tarmac and her man. belinda b, kylie and a big crew from baton rouge were there. miss gay louisiana america chelsea delorean divine performed. saw nicole dubois, miss gay america 2006. (well, actually it was tommy, not nicole) matti, one of the pub’s security guys, who has had a crush on the bf and i since before mardi gras… was forever close by last night. gotta let him down gently and tell him he isn’t our type!

ok, enough rambling, g’bye!

like you’ll never see me again

Friday, February 15th, 2008

If I had no more time
No more time left to be here
Would you cherish what we had?
Was it everything that you were looking for?
If I couldn’t feel your touch
And no longer were you with me
I’d be wishing you were here
To be everything that I’d be looking for
I don’t wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don’t wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
‘Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed

So every time you hold me
Hold me like this is the last time
Every time you kiss me
Kiss me like you’ll never see me again
Every time you touch me
Touch me like this is the last time
Promise that you’ll love me
Love me like you’ll never see me again

How many really know what love is?
No you never will
Do you know until you lose it
That it’s everything that we are looking for
When I wake up in the morning
You’re beside me
I’m so thankful that I found
Everything that I been looking for

I don’t wanna forget the present is a gift
And I don’t wanna take for granted the time you may have here with me
‘Cause Lord only knows another day is not really guaranteed

So everytime you hold me
Hold me like this is the last time
Every time you kiss me
Kiss me like you’ll never see me again
Every time you touch me
Touch me like this is the last time
Love me like you’ll never see me again

crowser, the consulting firm we use, is here evaluating the office and the way things are going. let’s just say that we should be having long- awaited evaluations (and raises) soon from the ruckus we all raised. woohoo!

the bf and i drove down to new orleans yesterday to help andrew and elena clean off the float and get it covered for the summer. mardi really is over. :-( before they got there, the bf and i got a little frisky… lol

mardi gras review

Monday, February 11th, 2008

so, the bf and i went to the krewe of orpheus mardi gras parade in mandeville last friday night with andrew and elena. after the parade, we drove across the lake to new orleans, and went straight to the quarter. went to the pub and picked up our w/e passes. went upstairs. hung out with michael, todd, and craig for a while. walked down to lafittes. finally went upstairs. got in bed at 3:30.

had to be up at 9 saturday morning cuz a couple of the bf’s clients came up to the condo to get extensions put in their hair. after he finished that, we went down and watched two parades- the krewes of iris and tucks. had to walk down to lee circle to catch endymion that night… bout froze our asses off!! it was so warm during the day that we just had shorts and t-shirts on, but by the time the parade was over at 10:30 or so, it was a lot cooler.

we woke up early sunday morning to go stake out our spot on the neutral ground in front of the condo. set up next to a nice family from lafayette (with a really cute son!). had a fun time watching four parades- krewes of babylon, okeanos, thoth and mid-city. i was drunk off my ass all day long from drinking hawaiian punch and vodka!! not to mention the daquiris.

andrew and elena met us after mid-city to watch bacchus. lots and lots of fun was had. the bf and i walked up st. charles before the parade, acting a fool… and for once, me more so than him. i think i actually managed to embarass him a few times.

we enjoyed bacchus until someone in the crowd next to us pulled out a gun, and the crowd scattered. the bf and friends came up to the condo, but i convinced the bf to go back down with me to watch the rest of the parade. not gonna let a gun stop me from enjoying a parade!

monday, we finished decorating the float for our parade on tuesday, then the bf and i went back to st. charles and watched proteus and orpheus. was in bed by 11, but up at 5am tuesday morning for our parade in metairie. on the float by 6am, and didn’t get off the parade route til 3pm, but it was so much fun, and the weather was perfect! never got a drop of rain all w/e… well, until about 11pm tuesday night when we were in the quarter and all the parades were over and nobody minded.

so, it’s been almost a full week since carnival ended, and i think i have recovered completely.

only 378 days til mardi gras ‘09!! (it’s late next year)
