back at work

Monday, October 22nd, 2007

arghhhh… i wanted to throw the damn clock out the window when it went off this morning. wish i could win the lottery so i didn’t have to work. it’s not that i dislike my job, i just dislike my boss- most of the time. she’s getting married this friday, so she’s even more on edge, and it just carries over to everybody else. anyways… at least being back at work and having something to occupy my mind is helping somewhat, because if i think about my situation for more than two minutes, i still break down and cry. the anger hasn’t hit yet, who knows how i’ll react once i get to that point. right now i’m still just incredibly hurt, and somewhat even in denial to what extent i was betrayed. i’m trying to forgive, but i’m not anywhere close yet, and don’t know if i will ever be able to. a lot of it will depend on his actions (and attitudes). i think i will still have to get to that anger stage, and then we’ll see where we stand.

had a three hour photo shoot with the southeastern lionettes and cheerleaders yesterday. they are doing a fundraiser calendar, and it shouldn’t be a problem getting 13 good photos out of the nearly 300 i shot. i was very happy with what we accomplished.

I breathe in I breathe out
Put one foot in front of the other
Take one day at a time
‘Til you find
I’m that someone you can’t live without
But until then
I breathe in and breathe out

went to the livingston parish fair friday night with the bf and his daughter. ate too much junk food, but after we rode the rides. good thing, or i would have puked! i rode the hang glider thingy with the daughter. it wasn’t as bad as i thought it would be, in fact, i enjoyed it. rode the gee whiz, and the ferris wheel. found out after 7 years that the bf is afraid of that, but he did ride with us, as was very happy that we were the last ones on and the first ones off, meaning we didn’t get stopped on top of the ride.

sunday night we went to new orleans to the pub for the drag show. it was fun… i guess. now i love those girls to death, most of them, but get some fuckin’ new material!!!!!! for god’s sake, it’s no wonder the crowd was so light. it’s the exact same show every time i go, and it’s been months since i’ve been! and note to britney o’brien (or however she spells her name)… bitch, the crowd didn’t react to your performance because you didn’t entertain!! a little less alcohol (and/or drugs) might help. nicole dubois, you were fabulous, as usual, and saved the show.

nick who?!

Monday, October 8th, 2007

i’ll be the first to admit it, and anyone who has heard me talk lsu football knows that i have never been a les miles fan. not from day one. not from the first win, and not even after the blowout win over notre dame in the sugar bowl last year. but after the florida game this past saturday night…

hot, fuckin’ damn!!

i was so impressed by his play calling, especially in the second half, when he went for it on 4th down, over and over. he had the mindset that to beat florida, he had to keep tebow and the florida offense off the field. his guts led to lsu’s glory. in my mind, that was lsu’s greatest win to date, but the season isn’t over!

lsu #1! geaux, tigers!

(footnote to michigan- keep your grubby paws off our coach!!!)

now, without doubt, #1!!!

went with the bf and mr. bobby to mccomb when we got off work last night to pick up the bf’s new horse, lil man. isn’t he a beauty?!

after we got him settled in the barn, we picked the son up from work and went to the speakeasy alley… had a drink, then the bf and i walked around the corner to the ponchatoula pub to see our favorite saintsation (and pub bartender) kellie.

fortunately, the son got on stage early at the speakeasy, and we were able to leave by 10:30 and get in bed by 11:30… i’m still tired though.

6 days and 4 hours til vacation!!

4 killed Saturday night on La. 21

Two adults and two teenagers were killed in a collision Saturday night in Sun when one vehicle crossed over into oncoming traffic and slammed into another, Louisiana State Police said.

The drivers of the vehicles, Samuel D. Smith, 38, of Pike County, Miss., and Sharon M. Myres, 49, of Bogalusa, were killed in the accident, said Trooper Louis Calato, Troop L spokesman.

Two girls, Whitney Myres, 15, and Crystal Chavis, 14, both of Bogalusa, also died in the accident. They both were passengers in Sharon Myres’ car. Three teenage passengers in the same car were hospitalized, Calato said.

The accident occurred at 8:30 p.m. on Louisiana 21 in Sun. Smith drove his 2001 Kia sport utility vehicle southbound into the northbound traffic and directly into the path of a 2008 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Myres, who was traveling northbound in the left lane, Calato said.

Alcohol is suspected as a factor on Smith’s part, however, and blood results are pending, Calato said.

my brother had been to the lsu game in new orleans with friends, and was headed to bogalusa with them to pick up their children. they were traveling northbound, and the kia driving the wrong way passed them in the left lane. the car my brother was in had just passed the car that was hit moments earlier. when the wreck occurred, it was just a couple of cars behind them.

thank god for the miracle that saved them, but my heart goes out to the familes that lost their loved ones in the other car. it may make me sound like a bad person, but thank god the drunk driver was killed… they usually walk away without a scratch.
