went to the park yesterday for my niece’s 7th birthday party. the bf and son were both working, so it was just me. my brother and his wife, already the parents of 2 boys, are in the process of adopting 2 children… a boy and a girl, sibling cousins of amanda. they are precious kids, and yesterday was a great opportunity to connect with and get to know them, as well as spending time with my other 2 nieces and nephews. i love those kids!!

cassidy performed at billy’s in slidell last night, a benefit show for habitat for humanity. the place was seriously packed with people… mostly lesbians and drag kings. there were a few cute guys, but not many.

ok, the bf is outside cutting grass, guess i need to go help.

so tired… went to the splash bar and grill and freakatorium in baton rouge last night for the miss splash pageant. got in bed about 3 this morning and was up before 6 to take the son to school. i’m surving on rock star drinks today! i have a few pics up from the pageant on the official miss gay louisiana america website, and more will be added as soon as i recover from last night.

i found him on myspace the other day after ten years of looking for him. i messaged him, he wrote, i replied.

i have so many memories of him and wish him nothing but happiness.

why is it that the people who have affected me most and who meant the most to me, are the ones that i have no contact with anymore. of all the friends i made online over the years, matt is the one constant, the only one i talk to on a regular basis… i feel sad when i think of people i’d love to be able to just call and chat with, but know that it’s impossible.

time moves on, and with the currents of life, so do the people we love.

while waiting for the start of the irish- italian parade in metairie on sunday, someone asked if “that was Marguerite Perrin” walking by. now, everyone who has watched any tv in the last couple of years will know Marguerite as “the god warrior” from trading spouses fame infamy. but i’ve known margaret for about 20 years, so i stopped her when she came back thru, and talked to her for a while. she said that her 2nd time on trading spouses was horrible, that the husband treated her much worse than anything that was ever shown on tv. she did say that she had several “fun” reality shows coming up… you go girl!

“Crazy” Charlie Albert, the skipper who won The Real Gilligan’s Island (Season Two) came in today to get some stuff printed. he’s from springfield, and we do printing for him from time to time.

no, haven’t heard from britney spears’ mom in a while. if i do, gonna see what’s up with the wild child. i still have her cell number, i should call and see what’s up with her.

that’s my “brushes with fame” for the week… such as they are. still waiting for brad pitt and angelina jolie to drop by…

yesterday was a great day for a parade… sunny skies, but not too hot. gentle breeze blowing, and lots of hot boys! i took about 150 pictures, and will have a gallery up soon, so these are just teasers of what’s to come.

three weeks til the next parade… strawberry festival in ponchatoula. i do love my parades!

went to the st.patty’s day parade in new orleans with andrew and elena yesterday. after the parade, we went to the quarter. got a new hot-ass tattoo on my upper back. i’ll get a pic of it up soon.

michael was at the show at the pub. he’s not as much fun as he used to be. wish he still lived here. sometimes. maybe.

two years ago today i wrote my first entry in this blog. although i’ve had some sort of website since 1997, this latest version had its birth on march 14, 2005. funny i should have written about the st. patrick’s day parade in that first post, because before i realized what today was, i finished posting all the pictures from this year’s parade.

so much has changed since that post… but on the other hand, so much is still the same. i still love going to parades with andrew and elena and the whole crew. don’t enjoy going out to the pub as much as i did then, but i guess that’s one area i have changed in.

i still miss michael. i think about him a lot, especially when we go out, because he was such a part of the fun we used to have “back in the day”. i suppose he’s happy in atlanta, don’t hear much from him anymore.

anyways, happy birthday to my blog! guess i am officially in the “terrible twos”… dunno exactly what that might mean in a blog’s life.

yesterday was the st. patrick’s day parade in old metairie. i took almost 200 pictures, so be expecting a gallery of hot guys soon! next week is the irish- italian parade on the traditional metairie parade route. of course, i’ll have my camera with me there too.

after the parade, we went to the mall for a while, then went to the pub for the drag show. last night was actually sorta fun with nicole dubois in the show. got in bed about midnight, and i’m tired as hell today. we went to mobile saturday afternoon, so we’ve been going non-stop all w/e… going to bed early tonight.
